Rangers prepare action plan to end violence

Rangers informed Interior Minister Rehman Malik that an action plan is prepared to curb the continuous violence in Karachi.
The Interior Minister, who visited the Rangers headquarters in Karachi today, was also given a detailed briefing on the law and order in Karachi.
Malik lauded Rangers’ action against miscreants in the city’s Katti Pahari area.
He directed the Rangers force to remain in the area until peace is restored there.
Rangers were deployed in all sensitive areas of Karachi to stem the tide of attacks and maintain peace and order in the city.
Previously the Rangers were given shoot-at-sight orders to prevent more bloodshed.
Earlier the interior minister said that it was the government’s duty to bring peace and it would continue to take action to restore it.
Malik said Rangers were taking lawful action and the government will be responsible for any action taken by law enforcement agencies. He said people in affected areas were speaking in favour of the action taken by the Rangers and police.
